Marketing consultant for London businesses

I'm based in Stockholm, one hour ahead of you, and work with London businesses over video. I'll get your advertising up and running on Google, Meta and LinkedIn and teach you to run it yourselves, so you're not paying an agency every month.

How we'll work together

  1. We meet on video

We start with a video call about what you sell, who buys it and where it makes sense to begin. After that, we work in your own accounts on a shared screen. I've been to London many times, and if meeting in person is worth it, we can arrange that.

  2. You own everything

The Google Ads account, Meta Business Manager and the LinkedIn campaigns are set up in your company's name and paid for with your card. If you ever switch consultants, the history stays with you. That's not a given with agencies, so always ask.

  3. One fee, then you take over

You pay once for setup and coaching. Your ad budget (what you pay Google or Meta for the ads themselves) goes straight to the platform, and you set it. The pricing calculator shows what your mix of channels costs.

What's different about advertising in London

London is one of the most expensive advertising markets in Europe, and its size makes it easy to spend money in the wrong places. Four things worth getting right from the start.

Expensive clicks call for narrower keywords

Competition for searches like “accountant London” or “plumber London” is fierce, and click prices reflect it. I'd rather target specific services, boroughs and postcode districts, with a proper list of negative keywords, than bid on broad city terms. More on how that works on the Google Ads page.

“London” is a very big place

Pick London as your location on Google or Meta and you reach all of Greater London, and, with a radius added, the commuter belt beyond it. If your customers are in Islington, impressions in Croydon are wasted. I set up radius or borough targeting and aim at people who are actually in the area, not everyone who's shown an interest in it, so tourists and day-trippers don't eat your budget.

Commuters are an audience of their own

Millions of journeys are made on the Tube, the Overground and the rail network every day, most of them with a phone in hand. Many of the digital screens in stations and by the roadside can now be bought programmatically, at prices a smaller company can afford. I explain how it works on the digital out-of-home page.

Decision-makers cluster in a few square miles

If you sell to businesses, many of your buyers work in the City, Canary Wharf and King's Cross. LinkedIn advertising targeted by role, industry and company works well, but on a small budget you need a narrow audience and a campaign that runs for a while. Better to reach 2,000 of the right people for three months than 50,000 for three weeks. And remember UK GDPR and PECR: marketing tags need consent, and the ICO enforces it.

Common questions

More answers on the FAQ page.

Do you have an office in London?

No. My office is in Stockholm, and I work with London businesses over video, in your own ad accounts on a shared screen. I've been to London many times and can come over for a meeting when it's worth it, but most of the work never needs one.

Is the time difference a problem?

Hardly. London is one hour behind Stockholm all year round, because both switch to summer time on the same weekends. A 9am meeting in London is 10am for me, so our working days overlap almost completely.

How much does a marketing consultant cost for a London business?

London agencies usually charge a monthly retainer or a percentage of your ad spend. I charge a one-off fee for setup and coaching (€710 to set up Google Ads, for example), and after that the account is yours to run. Your ad budget goes directly to Google, Meta or LinkedIn. I invoice in euros, and the pricing calculator shows what your mix of channels costs.

Do you know the UK rules on cookies and tracking?

Yes. Under UK GDPR and PECR, advertising and tracking tags need the visitor's consent, and the ICO enforces it. Google also expects consent signals for users in the UK. I set up tracking with a consent banner and Consent Mode, plus server-side tracking where it makes sense, so you measure what you're allowed to measure.

How quickly can we get started?

You can usually book a first video call within a week. If you already have ad creative and a working website, the first campaigns are typically live within two to three weeks. If there's no creative yet, we add time to produce it.

What happens when the setup is finished?

From then on, you run the accounts, using the structure and routines we set up together. If you want to talk something through later, just book a call. There's no lock-in and no ongoing fees.

Shall we start with a video call?

Book a first call and we'll go through your goals and the best place to start. One hour's time difference, no travel needed.
